I'm not from Seattle, but I did know of Ken Griffey Jr. back when he was in his prime. I was never the biggest baseball fan in the world either, but after going to some Mariners games up here, I have gained respect for those players who excel above the rest. Griffey is definitely one of these players. I was fortunate enough to see him at Safeco hit possibly the last home run of his career. I was there with my wife and sons and saw him swing effortlessly at the ball and watched it sail over the wall in center field. Here is a good article on him if anyone is interested:
